This year is the Festival's 20th Anniversary. Come cheer on the parade of marching bands as it winds its way through Trenton's downtown to Centennial Park and enjoy some of the many events being held, such as Celtic music on the waterfront, performances in the tradition of the military tattoo, strongman challenges and the merchants' fair. The Trenton Scottish-Irish Festival pays homage to the cultural beginnings of Quinte West. Two decades ago, the festival's founders created this event to promote and encourage Celtic music through song and dance, it continues today with a fervour of a community that truly honors its past.

First comes the pig roast – fill your plate with fine local fare, including stacks of fresh heirloom tomatoes, mouth-watering roast pork, steaming hot corn on the cob and much more. Keep yer fork, cause there’s pie too!
Then comes the dancing – old-time music duo Sheesham and Lotus will amuse and enthuse, entertaining us with their downright fabulous tunes. Then up you get (should you feel moved), to j...oin in with your fellow revelers as they attempt to allemande left and swing their partner right (managing to keep a straight face some of the time).
Then, the Celebrity Pie Auction - to add to the fun (and funds), we'll be auctioning off pies created by some of the County's most illustrious citizens. Pies/Celebrities to be announced soon!
This is going to be so much fun!

EAST HILL COMMUNITY MUSIC EVENT RETURNS FOR SECOND YEAR
Porchfest Belleville Celebrates Local Talent after successful inaugural event
Porchfest Belleville is a neighborhood celebration of music, where residents in East Hill perform on front porches to an audience that moves from house to house. This free family oriented event is being held Saturday, September 25, 2010, starting at 1pm, in East Hill Park, at the corner of Bleecker Avenue and Bridge Street East.
Last year’s first Porchfest Belleville was a resounding success with 18 acts on 14 stages, attracting some 200 audience members from all over the region. Already, many of the performers from 2009 have enthusiastically signed up to perform again, including Loyal Blues Fellowship, Seventh Town and Hearts on Hiatus, a band made up of local high school students.
Porchfest Belleville is inspired by a similar event held each year in Ithaca, New York. Participation is open to anyone. Performers from all genres and age groups are welcome. Local musicians, who are interested in showcasing their talents in this grassroots community event, are invited to sign up on the Porchfest Belleville website www.porchfest.ca. East Hill residents interested in hosting a performer can also register their porch on the website.
“We were thrilled with the turnout for last year’s event,” says co-organizer Lucinda Pritchard. “We have had so much positive feedback throughout the year, we are really pumped for this second year.”
“There is a lot of enthusiasm for Porchfest because it gives fledgling and hobby performers the chance to take the stage and share their passion for music,” says co-organizer Ken Hudson.
Interested performers are encouraged to sign up early. Performers who live outside East Hill can borrow a porch and East Hill residents can sign up to lend a porch.
