Visit the charming Lake Ontario harbour town of Brighton, at the western gateway to Bay of Quinte Country. With its vintage mainstreet and front-porch Victorian flavour, Brighton anchors a land of wooded hills and rolling farmland. Brighton is also the gateway to Presqu'ile Provincial Park, famous for lakeside camping, swimming, windsurfing, hiking and birding.

Brighton is the centre of a historic orchard industry-apple pie, apple butter, apple cider, and a very special apple festival! Taste your way through Brighton's Saturday Farmer's Market. Fill your shopping baskets with home baking, honey, cheeses, jams, jellies, fruits and vegetables from the area's country markets and roadside stands. Fresh, authentic, local eating at its very best!

Presqu'ile Provincial Park: Boardwalks, birds and butterflies

Sixteen kilometres of walking trails...A major flyway for migrating birds...waterfowl, warblers and shorebirds...a staging point for migrating Monarchs...white tail deer. Presqu'ile Provincial Park, on the north shore of Lake Ontario, is renowned for its unique habitats. Book one of Presqu'ile's almost 400 campsites (group camping too!), swim at the Park's long sandy beach.

The scenic centrepiece of Presqu'le is Ontario's second-oldest operating Lighthouse, located on the rocky shore of the Park's eastern tip. In summer, visit the Lighthouse Interpretive Centre, to see a model of the lighthouse, and view a video presentation on a dramatic sinking of H.M.S. Speedy in 1804.

Winter cross-country trails too!
