The Quinte Arts Council Gallery and Gift Shop, 36 Bridge Street, East, Belleville, will feature photographic works by two of our newest members, Daniel and David Vaughan. Daniel uses both traditional photographic and digital methods to create impactful photo art. He focuses on the intimate aspects of his subjects, capturing them in everyday settings and moods. “I have a diverse range of subjects and interests. I try to reflect the simple essence and beauty of a person, object or setting in nature or everyday life.”
Happy New Year Quinte! It is with great pleasure that I update you on what I believe to be a very exciting time for the Region of Bay of Quinte and the Bay of Quinte Tourist Council.
There is no doubt that this was a strategic year, as we aligned not only ourselves more formally together, but also within a great new Eastern Ontario Regional Tourism Organization: The Great Waterway. We did get many initiatives accomplished as well, and I am very proud to lead this great exciting group into the New Year.
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne!
Sang Around the World and in Bay of Quinte for New Years Eve, Ault Land Syne is a Robert Burns New Years tradition, meaning ‘For Long Ago, my Dear, For Long Ago, We’ll take a cup of kindness yet, for Long Ago’. Singing of how old acquaintances should be remembered and revered, it speaks to the history of all of our pasts, and as New Years Eve rings in another year, the celebration of a new year!
